'On the Playground' is an evocative and vital piece of immersive theatre based on real-life experiences surrounding the War in Bosnia, from the perspective of a child refugee, for children. In this exciting, interactive production designed for schools that creatively weaves together game play and storytelling; children are invited to join Stasha on her journey onto the playgrounds of her early childhood, hear the first hand experiences of a child refugee and play the games that travelled with her.
Through ‘On the Playground’, students are inspired to listen to each other's stories and develop a greater level of understanding for those in their school and wider communities who have been victims of forced migration.
“I found the games fun and exciting and I thought that the way the refugee travelled through different countries making new friends and learning new languages was fantastic.”
“‘I liked how interactive it was and how unique the ideas were to show it through games’ ”
“Captivating! The children were kept engaged the whole time. Enjoyable and fun. A great way to have some insight into a refugees’ journey.”
